What we found
Research notes SWOP is an independent Australian resale business founded in 2013 by Brigid Gordon. It buys pre-loved clothing, shoes and accessories from the public for cash or store credit and resells them in its stores and online. In 2026 it had four stores, in Melbourne (Collingwood, plus a new 500 sqm South Melbourne store), Sydney and Brisbane, all with a store-manager structure. Items it can't resell go to OPY, its not-for-profit op shop, which gives its profits to charity. SWOP does not publish its headcount or say how its store staff are paid, and no Fair Work findings against it have been reported.
