Terms of use
Labour Lens is run by Anders Costelloe personally, in Melbourne, Australia (“we” and “us” in these terms). By using Labour Lens you agree to these terms.
What a grade is
Grades, summaries and labels on Labour Lens are opinions, based on the public evidence listed on each brand page and assessed against our published grading rules at the date shown. They are not statements of fact about any company beyond what the cited sources say, and they are not legal, financial or purchasing advice. A Lacks transparency grade means a company hasn't shown that it meets our standards, not that we have found wrongdoing. Harm on record means a recent, serious problem was confirmed by a court, regulator, completed investigation or the company itself and hasn't been shown to be fully put right; it is listed on the brand page with the year it was last recorded and its sources. It describes that record, not the company as a whole.
Information can change after a brand is researched, and research can miss things. We don't guarantee that anything on the site is complete, accurate or current. Check the sources and the “last researched” date before relying on a grade.
How grades are researched
Brands are researched from public evidence with the help of AI (Anthropic's Claude, with web search) and graded against our published rules, so every company is judged the same way. Every brand page lists the sources used and the date it was last researched. How research and review work
Our editor, Anders Costelloe, spot-checks published brands on an ongoing basis and reads every evidence submission, right of reply and message we receive. Brands researched automatically when a visitor asks for one we don't cover are marked Provisional until he has reviewed them.
Corrections
If something is wrong, tell us through the evidence form, the right of reply form for companies, or by email at admin@labourlens.net. We review every request and correct confirmed errors. Companies get a response to a right of reply within 10 working days, and accepted replies are published on the brand page. Every grade change is listed, with its reason, on the grade changes page.
Posting and sending evidence
If you post in the community or send evidence, you must only share what you believe is true, say where it comes from, and not post anything unlawful, abusive, defamatory, private information about other people, spam or advertising. You keep ownership of what you post, and you let us show, edit for length or clarity, and remove it. We can remove posts and suspend accounts that break these rules.
Using the site
You can share and quote grades with a link back to the brand page. Don't scrape the site in bulk, overload it, or try to get around its limits. Brand names and trade marks belong to their owners; using them here doesn't mean those companies endorse Labour Lens.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Labour Lens isn't liable for any loss from using the site or relying on its content. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law. These terms are governed by the laws of Australia.
