Evidence
What we found
- "Made in Italy" only means the last major stage happened there: under customs and consumer law, materials and parts such as fabric, timber, glass, metal and ceramics can be made elsewhere. It hasn't shown where those earlier stages happen, so where it's made counts towards On Track but not Good. Source
- Doesn't show where its timber comes from. Timber is linked to illegal logging linked to forced labour, so it can't be graded Good until it traces or certifies it.
- Uses leather in only a few products and doesn't show where it comes from. That doesn't count against it for Good, but the "Open supply chain" star needs all of it traced, certified or upcycled.
Research notes Minotti says all its design and production is in Italy: at its own sites in Meda and with small nearby workshops of five to seven people that it does not name. Since 2024 it has held FSC chain-of-custody certification (FSC-C201261) for its Meda sites, covering many collections with wooden parts but not the whole range. It publishes no supplier list, supplier code of conduct, audit results, sustainability report or living wage commitment, and gives no origin for its leather.
